Nokia won’t be making more smartphones, but licensing the brand is a possibility
Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s mobile department came with a lot of changes, most notably with branding. The Nokia Lumia smartphone brand is now gone, replaced with Microsoft Lumia. What will happen with the ever so loved Nokia phones?
Nokia is shifting its focus to networks, technologies and mapping, but they may still be a good player in the mobile market. In an analyst meeting, today, CEO Rajeev Suri states they may be interesting in licensing the brand, even if they won’t be making devices anymore.
